This isn't your typical shopping spree.

We've been in the business for 20 years-- here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions.

Do we require appointments?

Yes, because Ania is a full-service bridal salon. Your bridal stylist wants to hear about the details of your wedding, will help you into and out of gowns, and is here for you every step towards your big day. We want you to take your time and enjoy the Ania experience, so we allow 90 minutes for bridal appointments. If you are hoping to come in last minute, give us a call! We will do our best to accommodate.

How many guests should I bring?

We get it. You want to bring your bestie, your mom, your bridesmaids, your auntie, your sisters, your future mother-in-law, and so on. We've been at this dress-finding game for awhile, so we ask that you trust us when we recommend keeping it small and limiting your guest count to about 4 key loved ones. This is your day, this is your time. We want you to bring friends who are honest, but we also want you to bring friends who value your voice more than their own.

Should I bring anything with me?

All we ask is that you show up with panties on! And even if you're a commando queen, we've got you covered-- disposables to the rescue! You're welcome to bring your own strapless bra or shape-wear if you like, however, we do have bustiers and slips available to borrow if needed. Robes are provided for each bride's comfort.

May I bring champagne?

Ania offers complimentary champagne, however you are more than welcome to bring your own if you like! We do ask that you refrain from bringing red wine, rosé, juice and food.

What sizes are your samples?

To start, we want to emphasize that bridal sizing is a bit... well... different. Each designer has their own size chart, and typically these size charts run about 2 sizes smaller than standard ready-to-wear sizing. This means if you're a 6 or 8 street size, you are probably a 10 or 12 in bridal. (Hey sister, we didn't make the game, we just play by the rules.) The good news is size is just a number! After you complete alterations, your gown will fit you and only you.

However, to answer the question, our samples are typically 10's and 12's. We have a wonderful selection of curve gowns for queen-sized brides from size 16 to size 22.

How much do your gowns cost?

Our gowns start around $1000 and run upwards of $7000. We recommend you check out our designers page. Just click on a designer to learn more about their style, general price point, and which gowns we carry from their collection. You can even pin images directly from our site to your Wedding Board on Pinterest! If you're looking to spend $1000 or less, purchasing a sample off the rack could be the perfect option for you.

Can I take photos?

Of course! We just ask that you wait until the end of your appointment to take photos of your favorites. Sometimes taking photos between each gown consumes more time than expected. To keep up momentum, we like to wait to take pics of your top 3 or 4 at the end of our time together.

When should I order my gown?

On average, gowns take 4-6 months to arrive. You then want to allow 6-8 weeks for alterations. We generally recommend you order about 8 months prior to your wedding date, but it's never too soon to say yes! If you find the gown at 14 months out, we say go for it. Designers can (and do) discontinue gowns, sometimes without warning. Price increases are uncommon, but they do happen.

I'm basically getting married tomorrow . . . What are my options?!

Deep breaths! You do have options. Our first recommendation is to purchase a designer sample off-the-rack. This means: 1) Discounts for days, 2) No waiting for production to bust a move, and 3) Instant relief! If this doesn't sound like something you're down for, that's okay. Several of our designers keep stock on hand, or at the very least offer rush orders. Keep in mind most rush orders do include a fee (which varies by designer). We can discuss these options in depth when you're here.

What is a Trunk Show?

If we were able to carry complete collections from all of our designers, we would! However this simply isn't possible. When we host a trunk show we receive a designer's collection in it's entirety. This gives our brides the opportunity to try on gowns we don't normally have in store. Ania hosts an array of trunk shows throughout the year, sometimes we even receive collections from designers we don't normally carry! To get the scoop on our trunk shows for the year visit our events page.

Will my gown need alterations?

Alterations are necessary to ensure a perfect fit. Ania provides tailors who have over 15 years of experience working in bridal. They are able to conveniently meet in-store so you don't have to worry about transporting your gown all over town!

Does Ania buy back, consign, or rent gowns?

Unfortunately Ania does not buy back wedding gowns, nor do we rent our samples. We recommend that you either consign your gown to our friends atRichele Kay and The Shabby Chic Bride or donate your gown to Adorned in Grace and Brides for a Cause

Can I order a gown you do not have?

As long as the gown is from a designer that we carry, then the answer is yes! We may even be able to borrow-in the gown for you to try on before ordering it. There is a fee we must charge to cover the cost of shipping the gown to and from the designer. However, if you purchase your wedding gown with us this fee can be credited towards your balance.

While we do not have any flower girl dresses in store we recommend you look at the Seahorse line from Watters. Ania is able to order any gown from them, we just need the child's measurements to help you select a size. Be sure to allow roughly 4 months for the dress to arrive.

What are the perks of being an Ania Bride?

For starters, all of the discounts! Ania Brides can expect to pay less in alterations than brides that purchase elsewhere. This is because our tailors are independently contracted and are able to meet with our brides in-store. This means less overhead costs for them and more savings for you! Ania brides also receive 15% off all their accessories as well as discounts on gown preservation and bridesmaids gowns!

All of this, coupled with our outstanding selection and service, makes for an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
