Your new bathroom should be a perfect compilation of great design and low maintenance. Why? Because you definitely don’t want to spend your days cleaning it over and over again, right? Luckily, in The Home Expert, we know exactly what you need to make your dream bathroom easier to clean.

Go big on tiles

Remember that when it comes to bathrooms practicality is the key. Choose the tiles that are bigger in size to minimize the grout joints. The fewer grout joints mean less cleaning. To limit the amount of time spent on cleaning, you can also go for tile walls – they’re super easy to clean and to maintain – quick wipe and you’re all set!

Keep it simple

In bathrooms aberdeen we understand that minimizing the dirt traps in your bathroom is an ultimate goal. That is why we always advise our customers to choose cabinets and countertops that are easy to clean. That means avoiding all shiny surfaces and wooden countertops – instead go for the matte cabinets finish and stain-resistant countertops, like laminate, recycled glass, or quartz.

  • And as an extra tip from The Home Expert designer: choose the built-in countertop sink – less splashing and spilling makes it so much easier to maintain.

Shower door options

The type of shower door you choose for your bathroom can be crucial to the amount of time you are going to need to spend on cleaning. In bathrooms aberdeen we’ve designed a lot of bathrooms where there was no shower door at all – less glass for cleaning and an extra touch of luxury. If you can’t give up the shower door completely, look for the frameless glass shower door with no grooves and spaces for mold or dirt to collect.

Hang it on the wall

The fewer corners, edges, ridges, and touch-points, the less cleaning for you. Keep the bathroom space as open as possible and make sure that the floor is clutter-free…and preferably “everything else free”. Wall hung features are not only one of the latest trends that we and our clients at bathrooms aberdeen love, but they’re also really practical. Wall hanging means no floor touching and that means no watery, rusty stains building-up around the toilet or bathroom cabinets.

Wave the mold goodbye

Mold is the most common issue for most bathrooms. Fighting it is hard but preventing – not that much. All you need is a good exhaust fan to get rid of mold, mildew, and other microorganisms that are not welcome in your bathroom.

And remember that The Home Expert is here to help you in every step of the way of creating your dream low-maintenance bathroom. Your ideas and our experience are a perfect combination!
