Meet Kelly!

Kelly was born in the Tri-Cities, Washington, but grew up in a Saint Paul suburb in Minnesota. After graduating high school Kelly attended college at Minnesota State University, Mankato, studying Criminal Justice and Sociology. Kelly moved to Oregon in 2008 and was married in 2011.  With 11 years of experience in Specialty Retail, Kelly was a wonderful addition to our team when she joined AniA in early 2014! In her free time Kelly enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest, hiking with her husband and son, reading, and crafting. Kelly’s favorite designers are WTooLazaro, and Willowby.

This was the third bridal shop I went to, and I was beginning to worry the type of dress I wanted just didn’t exist. When I described it to Kelly (light, danceable, not lacey), she didn’t seem phased. She didn’t bring a single dress I didn’t love. The first dress I tried was the one I left with. She kept me calm and collected the whole time, which was not easy.

Meet Lindsay!

Originally from West Virginia, Lindsay moved to Portland after living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lindsay attended West Virginia University, majoring in Fashion Merchandising, and immediately began her career in management at a specialty bathing suit store after graduating. After moving to Portland, Lindsay joined our team at AniA bringing with her an impressive 10 years of customer service and retail experience. In her free time Lindsay loves to travel. Her most memorable experience traveling was in Florence, Italy, during her study abroad in college. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, Lindsay has focused on exploring the visual aesthetics the West Coast has to offer- From Vancouver, B.C. to San Diego, California! Lindsay also enjoys attending shows at local venues. Among the many designers AniA carries, Lindsay's top three favorite designers are WattersTheia, and Truvelle.

I can’t say enough how amazing Lindsey was and that she knows her stuff. She knew what type of dress would look good on me and she went for it! Being a bride is stressful enough that we need to let the experts work. Lindsey is an expert and everytime I had to come in for a fitting or called for a question, Lindsey and the rest of the staff was nothing but terrific and sweet! :) Thank you so much for being such a vital part of the bridal experience.

Meet Shelley!

Shelley moved to Portland in early 2013 and studies Psychology at Portland State University. Originally from Oregon, she lived most of her life in new Hampshire and is happy to be back where she feels at home. Shelley graduated from cosmetology school in 2008 and worked in a vibrant salon where she loved experimenting with color and design. Shelley joined the Ania team in June 2013, bringing with her a healthy passion for design and enthusiasm to make everyone look their best. In her free time she enjoys dabbling in painting, attending Pilates, fun bike rides and trying all of the wonderful food that Portland has to offer! Shelley's favorite designers are Tara Keely and Theia.

I am so happy I bought my dress at AniA. Do not skip this shop. AniA was my 8th shop in 2 days - Shelley was very respectful of my budget and brought me exactly what I was looking for - even though I did not have a specific style in mind (I liked an A-line, a ball gown, and a mermaid from other shops - and brought pictures). The one thing that stood out to me was that Shelley left me alone with my family and friends to talk about my favorites without the sales pressure - no other shop did that. We laughed, cried and then enjoyed a glass of [champagne] because I had a dress!... and then cried some more. Thank you AniA and especially Shelley! I love my dress.

Meet Sophie!

Born and raised in London, England, Sophie went to Nottingham Trent University for Fashion Marketing. In 2009 Sophie moved to Los Angeles to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. While living in LA, Sophie worked for a celebrity stylist and managed two Kitson locations before moving back to England to work as a buyer. After being long distance for 3 years with her now-husband, Sophie moved back to the states and was married in January of 2015. Sophie and her husband are parents to a beautiful King Charles Cavalier named Dexter. In her free time Sophie enjoys hiking, cooking British food, going on dates with her husband, and sampling at local Oregon wineries. Sophie’s favorite designers are Watters, Lazaro, and Willowby

AniA was the only place I visited and the only one I needed to. I was given a variety of dresses to try based on my likes and dislikes and Sophie was great at picking out dresses the fit into my style as I thumbs up or downed each dress. I found the perfect one in less than an hour. Sophie was very helpful in giving suggestions for the alterations I wanted. Overall, it really was my preferences that motivated the staff, evident in Sophie’s attentiveness and the way she stayed within my budget without pushing more expensive dresses. This was the part of wedding planning I dreaded, but I and the family I brought along had a blast.

My bridal consultant [Aisling] really listened to what I wanted and kept the dress selection within my budget. I found the dress I adored on the first try but was convinced to go to my next appointment to make sure I was ready to purchase my dream dress by my Mom, Sister, Grandma, and Future Mother in Law. The next appointment didn’t even come close to my appointment with Ania Collection. [...]. I ran straight back to Ania and purchased my dress and a veil. They give you a discount for accessories if you purchase your dress and since I bought my dress off the rack, I was given a discount! I also live a few hours away, and they had to order my veil but have been very flexible about shipping arrangements! LOVE ANIA! Perfect place for warm and friendly service without any pushy saleswomen! Thanks Ania for being a special part of my day and making me feel like a beautiful bride!

Meet Pamela!

I was fascinated by the wedding industry when I was planning my own wedding in Portland, 1998. At that time there was not much information available online or otherwise. I had to rely on attending bridal shows and reading magazines to figure out the venues, caterers, photographers, and most important of all, my gown. It was such a memorable experience for me that it inspired me to work in the wedding industry. I love keeping up with all the bridal fashion trends, designers, and styles every season. Seeing our brides fall in love with the gowns we offer at AniA is incredibly rewarding. My favorite designers at AniA include Lazaro and Theia.

Meet Our Support and Marketing Team!

Haley & Kalani

Meet Kalani!

Originally from Illinois, Kalani moved to Portland in September of 2012. Kalani joined the Ania family in March of 2014. She loves playing with her pup, sewing and DIY projects, listening to music, and staying up to date on Game of Thrones. Some of Kalani's favorite designers at Ania include Truvelle and Watters.

Meet Haley!

Born in Monroe Washington, Haley is a native to the Pacific Northwest. After joining AniA in early 2014 as support and marketing staff Haley saw a need to improve Ania’s web-presence. After countless hours collaborating with Kalani, the two were able to produce the very website you are viewing today! In her free time Haley enjoys weight training, snowboarding, and taking photographs of her cat, Spaceman Spiff.

This place was my third stop, and resonated more with my style - the employees are down to earth, friendly, knowledgeable and low key. The store is clean, organized and set up well. I really liked the dressing area. There are at least 4 floor-to-ceiling mirrors staged at different angles so you can move around freely and get a really good feel of how you look in the dresses. No hand-held salon mirrors needed. I also liked that on their website, they list pictures of all the samples they have available to try on. That was something I didn’t see at the other bridal shops. It helped me out a lot because I was short on time, and was able to give them a list of samples I wanted to try. They have a great variety of designers and allow brides to browse dresses without an employee breathing down your neck.
